Affiliate Disclosure &
Editorial Policy
What we do, what we do not do, and why it matters.
Affiliate Links
Some links on this site are affiliate links. That means we may earn a small commission if you click a link and choose to purchase — at no additional cost to you. The price you pay is the same whether you use our link or go directly.
We use affiliate relationships selectively: only with partners whose products we can explain honestly, including their limitations. If we cannot describe what a product does not do, we do not promote it.
Affiliate commission does not influence how we write about a product. A guide on this site describes how a product or service actually works — including its risks, tradeoffs, and fine print — regardless of whether a link earns a commission.
What We Do Not Do
- We do not accept payment to call something "good" or "recommended."
- We do not use fake urgency, countdown timers, or manufactured scarcity.
- We do not bury disclosures or hide commercial relationships.
- We do not write guides for products we cannot explain honestly.
- We do not prioritize affiliate revenue over editorial accuracy.
Sponsored Content
Sponsored explainer content may be introduced in a later phase of the platform's development. When and if it appears, it will be clearly labeled at the top of the page — not buried in a disclaimer — and it will follow the same editorial standard: the product must be explainable honestly, including its limitations.
No sponsorship relationship will influence content that is not labeled as sponsored.
Editorial Independence
Guides on this site represent research into how products and services actually work in practice. Sources include product documentation, regulatory filings, consumer reports, and direct research. Where a guide relies on a particular source, it is cited.
If you find an error, contact us at hello@beforeyoubuyx.com. Corrections are made promptly and noted where material.
